SOLDMachine embroidered faces tied in red binding with a yellow border on a black base.
Unissued.
Italian volunteers in the Waffen-SS served primarily after Italy’s surrender in 1943. Many were motivated by fascist ideology or loyalty to Mussolini’s Italian Social Republic. They formed units like the SS Division Littorio and fought on the Eastern Front and in Italy. Around 20,000 to 30,000 Italians served, often facing heavy casualties. After the war, many were prosecuted for their collaboration with Nazi Germany. Their legacy remains controversial due to their association with the Nazi regime. -

The front features a Third Reich eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreath containing a Red Cross and swastika. The background has a characteristic pebbled texture. The detailing is excellent, with deep relief and clearly defined elements.
The reverse side retains the original fastening system with the catch and prongs. A maker’s mark is present.
