The badge was completely hand-sawed and openwork after completion: the crown, the surrounding laurel/oak leaf wreath with bow, as well as the ray plate behind the enameled field! Worn piece, on reverse with wide pin. In good condition, with very attractive patina.
A most exceptional piece, certainly worn by an extravagant officer. A unique item! -

Commander’s Cross of the Order of Military Merit with Swords on a neck ribbon in black, yellow and white. The cross is enamelled in deep red with applied gilt swords. The white-bordered central medallion bears the inscription “За военна заслуга” and the date “1891”, with a raised heraldic lion at centre. The suspension takes the form of a princely crown with red and green enamel, characteristic of the early version of the order. Condition: good, with minor age-related wear. -

Commander’s Cross of the Order of Military Merit with Swords, suspended on a neck ribbon in black, yellow and white. The cross is covered in deep red enamel, overlaid with gilt swords and a laurel wreath. The central medallion features the Bulgarian rampant lion on a dark red enamel ground, within a white enamel ring inscribed “За военна заслуга” and dated “1891”. The suspension is formed as a royal crown with green and white enamel detailing. Fine quality execution typical of early issues. -

Made of silver, featuring deep red enamel with the Hamburg city coat of arms (gate and key) on the obverse. The reverse bears the inscription Für Verdienste im Kriege 1914.
The cross comes with its original pre-WWI red-white ribbon. Condition is excellent, enamel fully intact with no chips, and the silver shows an attractive naturally aged patina.

Cased Third Class Eagle Order with Swords – Godet (Lot: 153)
Auction EndedThis Third Class Eagle Order with Swords is a stunning piece. The top quality white enamel on both sides is clean and perfect, with no chips. The beautifully detailed silver eagle emblems have taken on attractive dark age toning. The suspension ring is intact. This attractive cross is complete with its original ribbon, which is crisp and clean, with only extremely slight age toning. The original pin attachment on the reverse is functional and is neatly hand stitched in place. The original case of issue is present, and is in outstanding condition, with bright original color and nearly full original surface to the crimson leather covering. The large, bold, embossed German eagle and swastika emblem on the lid is virtually perfect. The clasps on the case are intact and functional. Inside the case, the white silk lining for the lid is marked with the German designation of the award. There is very slight patina to the white silk lining. The cross lies on an insert lined with a fine black velvet, which is perfect. It would be hard to find a better example of a 3rd Class Eagle Order with Swords. The condition rates as excellent plus overall.

German Railway Eagle – Deutsche Reichsbahn, WWII Period 28.5 15.5 inches (approx. 72×40 cm) (Lot: 1471)

The eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, clutching a wreath bearing a swastika in its talons. The piece features strong three-dimensional relief, with detailed feathering and wing construction.
The reverse retains stamped/raised manufacturer or production markings, as well as original mounting hardware. The eagle displays an attractive period patina with surface wear, oxidation, scratches, and traces of finish loss consistent with its age and history.

Technical Emergency Corps (TeNo) Leader’s Dagger, Model 1938 (Lot: 1456)
Auction EndedTechnical Emergency Corps (TeNo) Leader’s Dagger, Model 1938, manufactured by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. This example bears the manufacturer’s trademark and retains matching numbers on the blade and scabbard, confirming their factory pairing and attesting to the complete original preservation of the piece.
This dagger model was introduced in November 1938, concurrently with the adoption of new regulation edged weapons for the TeNo organization. It was intended to be worn with dress uniform by commanding officers holding the rank of Stabsscharführer and above. Officers purchased these daggers at their own expense through special organizational outlets.
The history of the Technical Emergency Corps began on September 30, 1919. Throughout the existence of the Weimar Republic, the corps repeatedly distinguished itself, demonstrating efficiency and excellent technical training. Naturally, this organization could not escape the attention of the new leadership, the National Socialist Party. In 1939, to further enhance efficiency, TeNo was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Reich Ministry of Foreign Affairs and subordinated to police structures, allowing for improved operational capacity. Prior to the commencement of the Polish campaign, TeNo was commanded by SS Gruppenführer (SS Lieutenant General) Schmelzer; he was later succeeded in this post by SS Gruppenführer Weinreich.
The Carl Eickhorn company was founded in Solingen in 1865 and became one of the largest manufacturers of edged weapons in Germany. The company’s trademark, featuring a squirrel (Eichhörnchen), served as a guarantee of the highest quality products. During the Third Reich period, the firm produced a wide range of regulation edged weapons, including daggers for all branches of service, SA and SS daggers, NPEA, NSFK, and TeNo daggers, as well as dress daggers, sabers, and swords. Carl Eickhorn products are distinguished by superior steel quality and meticulous finishing, and are highly valued by modern collectors.
