Luftwaffe Air Gunner Badge, Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid (Lot: 908)
$ 900 fee: 22.5%An early Luftwaffe Air Gunner Badge manufactured by Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid. The oval wreath is struck in a silvered alloy, while the eagle is produced in dark oxidized zinc with the crisp detailing typical for Deumer—distinct beak, sharply cut wings, and well-defined talons. The reverse bears the clear maker’s mark “W. DEUMER LÜDENSCHEID.”
The hardware corresponds to Deumer’s authentic early configuration: a narrow tubular hinge, long slightly curved pin, and a solid block catch. The wreath shows expected wear to the silver finish, yet the leaf detail remains strong. The eagle retains a uniform dark patina with no signs of cleaning. Overall condition is good and fully original, with no repairs or restoration.

The Kriegsmarine Honor Roll Clasp was instituted on May 13, 1944 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Kriegsmarine. Only 29 awards are known in total. Most authentic pieces appearing on the market are unworn examples from the stock of the Orders Chancellery, which were captured by US troops at Schloss Klessheim in May 1945. -
