Luftwaffe Honor Goblet to Wolfgang Vorpahl Grouping (Lot: 347)
$ 11,000 fee: 22.5%German Luftwaffe Honor Goblet and citations set to Oberleutnant Wolfgang Vorpahl Kampfgeschwader 55, fine example of an Alpaka goblet which has a beautiful uncleaned black patina to the body. Around the lower band it is engraved ‘Oberleutnant Wolfgang Vorpahl AM 22.1.43’. Underside of the goblet it is stamped ‘Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage Joh.Wagner & Sohn’. Accompanying the goblet is his award citations for the rest of his awards which include the German cross in gold, this Honor Goblet, pilots badge, EK1, EK2, wound badge, Krim shield and bronze and silver grade bomber operational clasps. Also with the group is two promotion citations plus a small grouping of original snapshot and studio photographs relating to Vorpahl. Overall this is an excellent complete grouping.

Cased Spanish Cross with Swords in Silver (Lot: 289)
$ 5,550 fee: 22.5%Absolutely stunning version of this style medal. Comes in the original blue case and looks to be in near unissued condition. The front of the medal shows a frosty silver finish with fine detail to the cutout swastikas and a pebbled inner part of the cross. The reverse has the standard tapered style pin with barrel hinge that functions perfectly. Nicely marked in the center and has the 800 stamp for silver. Hard to find a nicer example.

War Merit Cross with Swords 1st Class (Lot: 288)

The pin is perfect as well and functions properly and the box is also in beautiful condition. This is a perfect example of this style medal and would be hard to find one nicer
