    Extremely rare to see these badges made in aluminum and in this stunning condition. This piece comes with the original case that is also in excellent condition. The badge has almost all of the original gold to the wreath on the front as well as the reverse and the original owner etched his name on the back. The eagle is perfect and shows amazing detail that really makes this badge pop. The hinge is a barrel style and functions as it should and it has the spun rivets which is common on these models. No damage and no repairs making this one stunning badge.

    Luftwaffe Honor Goblet to Wolfgang Millatz (Lot: 88)

    German Luftwaffe Honor goblet (Ehrenpokal) awarded to Oberfeldwebel Wolfgang Millatz who was killed during trials for the ME-262 jet fighter aircraft in 1944. The goblet is a fine uncleaned example, engraved to the bottom ring ‘Oberfeldwebel Wolfgang Millatz AM 2-11-42′. The award is impressed to the bottom “Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage’ and the makers mark of ‘John Wagner & Sohn’. The goblet is in super uncleaned condition. Wolfgang Millatz was born in Berlin on 29th November 1914. He qualified as a pilot in the Luftwaffe, gaining his pilots qualification badge, he was also awarded the German Cross in gold, EK1,Ek2, Bomber clasp in bronze, silver and gold along with this Honor Goblet. In 1944 he was at the rank of Leutnant serving at the Messerschmitt factory at Schwabisch Hall ( Sonderkommando OKL). On 25th November 1944 he was flying a ME-262 A-2a jet fighter aircraft with code ‘NY+BS’ when the aircraft crashed on landing approach during trials at the air station. Millatz was killed in the crash.

    German Luftwaffe Honor Goblet and citations set to Oberleutnant Wolfgang Vorpahl Kampfgeschwader 55, fine example of an Alpaka goblet which has a beautiful uncleaned black patina to the body. Around the lower band it is engraved ‘Oberleutnant Wolfgang Vorpahl AM 22.1.43’. Underside of the goblet it is stamped ‘Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage Joh.Wagner & Sohn’. Accompanying the goblet is his award citations for the rest of his awards which include the German cross in gold, this Honor Goblet, pilots badge, EK1, EK2, wound badge, Krim shield and bronze and silver grade bomber operational clasps. Also with the group is two promotion citations plus a small grouping of original snapshot and studio photographs relating to Vorpahl. Overall this is an excellent complete grouping.
