Aluminum fittings, crossguard stamped “N448.” Brown wooden grip with slight pressure marks. Steel scabbard painted olive-green, showing light traces of corrosion. Comes with the original sidearm hanger. A worn piece, but in good overall condition. Rare.

NPEA dagger for course participants. (Lot: 581)
$ 5,700 fee: 22.5%Apart from a few age spots, the blade is clean, bearing the motto “Mehr sein als scheinen” (“To be more than to appear”) and the maker/supplier mark “Karl Burgsmüller, Berlin.” Pommel and crossguard are made of aluminum; brown wooden grip shows a repair area, stress cracks, and small chips above the crossguard. Olive-green painted scabbard retains about 97% of its original finish, complete with original leather hanger, which has the owner’s name “M.H. Möller” scratched on the reverse. A very well-preserved NPEA dagger.

“To our esteemed Rittmeister … after one year of wartime service together, from his NCO corps.”
The dagger is produced by A. Wingen, Solingen, confirmed by the crisp maker mark on the ricasso. Includes original nickel-plated scabbard with even patina. A fine example of a personalized presentation dagger given to a cavalry officer (Rittmeister) by his non-commissioned officers.

Romanian Air Force Officer’s Dagger (Aeronautica Regală Română), Interwar Period (Lot: 500)
$ 5,900 fee: 22.5%A rare Romanian Air Force officer’s dagger, produced in the distinctive gilt style of the period. The blade features rich decorative etching, including the winged propeller emblem and the crowned Romanian eagle — symbols of the Royal Romanian Air Force. The light-colored grip with twisted wire wrap shows natural age cracks. All brass fittings on the hilt and scabbard retain their gilt finish. The scabbard displays the characteristic hammered texture and the winged-propeller motif. A striking and scarce dagger typical for Romanian aviation officers
