The barrel is clean, with scattered light pitting and tool marks. The lock has some small patches of light pitting. Brasswork is lightly pattinated. The action is strong and functions as designed.

Initials “WFC” have been carved into the stock underside, just forward of the trigger guard. Cartouche outlines are visible, and would become clearer with the removal of an old layer of varnish if so desired.
