Aluminum infantry canteen of the World War II era, produced in Germany in 1946 as part of war reparations for the USSR. The body bears a clear “G.R.” maker’s mark and the date “1946.” Painted in olive-green, with an aluminum screw cap attached by a chain. This type of canteen continued the wartime design of the 1930s–1940s but belongs to the immediate postwar reparations production.
Canteens from this period are valued by collectors as a testimony to the transitional stage of Soviet Army equipment and supply.
