Established in 1941 to award enlisted personnel and non-commissioned officers of the U.S. Army for exemplary service, discipline, and fidelity.
The obverse depicts an eagle perched on a sword and scroll, surrounded by the motto Efficiency – Honor – Fidelity. The reverse bears the inscription For Good Conduct within a laurel wreath and a star.
The medal is made of bronze, suspended from a red ribbon with white edge stripes.
