The blade features elaborate acid etching depicting an imperial eagle with swastika, oak leaves, and the inscription ‘Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit’ (‘In Memory of My Service’). The blade ricasso bears the manufacturer’s mark of Original Eickhorn Solingen with the squirrel emblem, as well as the retail marking of Militärwarenhaus Dürbeck, Wien IX, indicating sale through the Viennese military goods store following the Anschluss of Austria.
