This is original German Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen) in Silver from the World War I period (1914–1918). This award was given to soldiers for moderate injuries received on the battlefield.
The obverse features a World War I-style steel helmet with a cross, set against a background of crossed swords and a laurel wreath. The silver finish has been excellently preserved. The reverse side has a vertical pin attachment.
The condition is excellent for its age: minor signs of wear are visible, with no restorations or repairs. 100% original — a worthy addition to any serious collection of World War I military awards.
